Charm, allure and enchantment sum up the wedding of Valentina (from Puglia) and Mijlous (from New York) in Puglia. Celebrated in one of the most prestigious Romanesque and Gothic monuments in Puglia, the wedding ceremony was a romantic ritual, consecrated by the magnificence of the Church of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria, built in the fourteenth century in Galatina, just a short distance from Lecce, the renowned and sublime capital of Salento.
The location that hosted the reception, Villa Capozza in Casarano, in the province of Lecce, in the heart of southern Puglia, is also a historic dwelling dating back to the early 1700s and restored in Art Nouveau style in 1918 by an Austrian architect. Rich in friezes, mosaics, decorations, columns and capitals in Lecce stone, Villa Capozza was in perfect keeping with Mijlous and Valentina’s festivities exuding a timeless charm, a romantic fairytale written into the pages of Lecce’s history.
